Introduction: The main integrating discipline responds to objectives outlined in the professional model and develops the modes of action that are linked to the different problems to be solved by the graduate of a given career. Objective: To describe the criteria of the students of the career of Logophonoaudiology about the main integrating discipline. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out where we worked with a universe constituted by 65 students belonging to the second, third and fourth year of the Logophonoaudiology career of Havana from the 2017-2018 academic year. We worked with inclusion criteria of having studied at least one of the subjects of this discipline. Results: The majority of the students consider that the aspects that characterize the main discipline integrating the career Logophonoaudiology are related to the linking of the subjects and the work practice to the basic problems of the profession, the integration and application of the contents in the solution of problems of practical activity and the contribution of it to the formation of values, autonomy and independence. Students point out that interdisciplinary relationships are sufficient. They also value that the subjects practically do not include practical activities that have a significant influence on the skill formation of the profession and the little link between teaching, work and research activities. Conclusions: The students value most of the items in a satisfactory way, so that they characterize to a large extent the discipline Logophonoaudiology as rector in the career.Downloads
