Cromomicosis: reporte de un caso

La cromomicosis es una micosis subcutánea de evolución crónica que se caracteriza por la formación de nódulos, placas verrucosas y masas tumorales papilomatosas. Se presenta un paciente masculino de 65 años de edad, con antecedentes de haber sido trabajador agrícola, que mostraba lesiones sugestivas de cromomicosis en el miembro superior derecho. Se realizó estudio micológico de las lesiones en el Laboratorio de Microbiología del Hospital Dr. Salvador Allende de La Habana. Al examen directo con KOH se observaron las típicas células fumagoides; en el cultivo se observaron las colonias características de sus agentes etiológicos. Se destaca la importancia del diagnóstico precoz de la cromomicosis y su impacto en el pronóstico de los pacientes.
