La Cardiopatía isquémica es una enfermedad frecuente  en el adulto mayor,  ha estado afectando a la humanidad desde el pasado siglo, por lo que la rehabilitación juega un papel importante desde el punto de  vista preventivo y como medio de mantener o recuperar las capacidades funcionales del  anciano cardiópata. Por lo que a través de este trabajo se argumentó el papel de la rehabilitación de esta patología en la tercera edad,  mediante una búsqueda bibliográfica de fuentes como libros,  páginas  web, etc. En donde se pudo apreciar que la hipertensión, los trastornos de lípidos y la diabetes son los mayores factores de riesgo; también que la estructura del tratamiento rehabilitador se basara en 3 fases (Hospitalaria, Convalecencia y Mantenimiento) y que el ejercicio físico es un elemento de gran valor tanto en la recuperación exitosa del paciente como en la prevención de esta afección
