Abstract

Para valorar el impacto que tiene el desarrollo de un logro científico técnico hay que tener en cuenta su implicación en el desarrollo social del ser humano, ya que desde el punto de vista ético, la ciencia y la tecnología, ha de ser vista positivamente, por cuanto: conocer, siempre es un bien, y constituye una gran esperanza para el ser humano, un ejemplo de ello es el Proyecto de Genoma Humano por lo que se hace imprescindible valorar el impacto del mismo sobre el desarrollo social e individual del hombre como ser social, y para ello, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica que argumenta la importancia de esta investigación y sus consecuencias sociales para el ser humano, resultando: que las opciones orientadas al bien de las personas que surgen del Proyecto Genoma Humano son promisorias, y ha de alentarse la investigación para así obtener todas las ventajas que dé él se derivan, demostrándose: que con su desarrollo en manos de compañías particulares con fines lucrativos se corre el riesgo de que sea usado con fines bélicos o deshumanizados, y creará diferencia abismales y oportunista, entre los países, los sistemas sociales, y sobre todo, en los seres humanos.
