Abstract

El incumplimiento de la seguridad del paciente es un fenómeno creciente en la actualidad, subregistrado en la mayoría de los países del mundo. Sin embargo los daños ocasionados al paciente por este hecho son cuantiosos. La insuficiente cultura en seguridad del paciente y el creciente número y variedad de tecnología sanitaria con que cuenta la humanidad hoy, hacen necesario abordar este tema. De ahí que se realizara una revisión bibliográfica sobre el tema, con el objetivo de reflexionar sobre las consecuencias sociales de la inseguridad del paciente y el uso inadecuado de las tecnologías.
