Abstract

Con la misión Barrio Adentro se logra superar las inequidades en salud, diferencias innecesarias, evitables e injustas en las condiciones de salud de la población y en su acceso a los servicios; se impulsa la participación social y comunitaria y se descentralizan los servicios, imprescindibles para una participación social real en la gestión de estos servicios, así como para alcanzar una mayor eficiencia y efectividad de los mismos. Se presenta esta experiencia teniendo en cuenta el avance del Sistema de Salud Mundial y el desarrollo de la hipertensión arterial (HTA) en mujeres del Área de Salud Integral Comunitaria (ASIC) Lago azul, Maracaibo del Estado de Zulia en Venezuela en el año 2008.
