Abstract

Se realizó una Investigación Aplicada con el objetivo de diseñar una aplicación para la Base de Datos del Registro de Usuarios del Punto de Presencia de la Facultad de Tecnología de la Salud (FATESA), para solucionar el control y la seguridad necesarios en el acceso de los usuarios a las redes de Infomed e Internet de esta institución. Se efectuó en el período comprendido entre septiembre del 2009 y marzo del 2010. Como gestor de la Base de datos se utilizó el software MySQL, y para la interfaz con el sistema, se creó una aplicación Web, para la que se utilizó el editor Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, y los lenguajes de programación JavaScript, HTML y PHP. La Base de datos tiene dos formularios de entrada y varias consultas. Esta base constituye un instrumento científico pertinente y confiable para la toma oportuna de decisiones,  ya que la información obtenida, como resultado de su ejecución, es relevante pues brinda seguridad, dinamismo y coherencia en el manejo de la información.
