Keywords:

Summary
This investigation concerning the study of the behavior of the peak expiratory flow in healthy people greater than 20 years of age comes in response to the necessity of understanding what were the probable peak expiratory flow (PEF) values within the different age groups which were being considered. We completed a literature search and verified that in Cuba there isn't sufficent reference values which would allow one to adequately evaluate the lung function without having to resort to the reference tables from other countries. Starting from this present scientific problem, what are PEF values that healthy Cuban subjects will reach within the different age groups? This stated investigation has been set to analyze and compare these values, taking into account: sex, age and height.
Key Words: peak expiratory flow, healthy subjects, sex, age, height rank.
