La podología en Cuba: una necesidad demostrada.

El pie no es sólo una parte del cuerpo humano, sino una de sus partes más importantes. La investigación tuvo como objetivos caracterizar la formación del podólogo en Cuba, comparar las competencias del Podólogo antes de 1963 y después de 1982 y las que se realizan a nivel mundial, valorar la correspondencia entre las tendencias contemporáneas de la Educación Superior y el Plan de Estudio de la Licenciatura en Tecnología de la Salud, perfil Podología. El estudio fue descriptivo, no experimental, longitudinal y prospectivo. Para alcanzar los objetivos, se emplearon los métodos del nivel teórico: inducción-deducción, análisis de documentos y análisis histórico-lógico. Del nivel empírico: entrevista y encuesta. Se utilizó la estadística descriptiva para analizar la información obtenida. Se seleccionó el muestreo no probabilístico intencional El universo se conformó con podólogos cubanos y extranjeros vinculados a la enseñanza de la Podología. La muestra quedó constituida por 6 especialistas, 3 cubanos y 3 extranjeros; 14 podólogos con más de 10 años de graduados, de ellos 8 cubanos y 6 extranjeros; 15 podólogos cubanos con 10 años o menos de graduados; para un total de 35 podólogos. Todos fueron orientados antes de la aplicación de las guías, cumpliendo con las normas éticas de las investigaciones. Se demostró la posibilidad que tienen los egresados de realizar las funciones que se realizan a nivel internacional y la importancia que tiene este profesional dada la incidencia que tiene la lesiones podológicas en la población.

ABSTRACT
The foot is not only one of the parts of the human body, but it is also one of its more important parts. The research had as objectives to characterize the formation of the podiatrist in Cuba, to compare the podiatrist competitions before 1963 and after 1982 and those that are carried out in the world, and to value the correspondence between the contemporary tendencies of the Superior Education and the Plan of Study of the Licentiate in Health Care Technology, Podiatry profile . The study was descriptive, longitudinal and prospective. To reach the objectives were used, the methods of the theoretical level: induction-deduction, analysis of documents and logical- historical analysis. On the empiric level: the interviews and survey. The descriptive statistic was used to analyze the information obtained. It was selected the intentional not probability sampling. The universe was conformed with Cuban and foreigners podiatrist linked to the teaching of Podiatry. The sample was constituted by 35 podiatrists, with 15 and 10 years or less graduated, 14 with more than 10 years graduated and 6 specialists. All were guided before the application of the guides, fulfilling the ethical norms of the researching; It was shown the possibility that the new graduated have to carry out their functions in the international level and the importance that it is given to this professional, due to the incidence that the podiatry lesions cause in the population.
