Introduction: recurrent miscarriage affects 1-3% of couples. In recent years, natural killer cells present in peripheral blood have been studied with the intention of finding out if they have any relationship with these miscarriages. Objective: to identify the involvement of natural killer cells in repeat abortions in patients of the Castilla - La Mancha Health Service in 2016. Method: a prospective, longitudinal and descriptive study was performed in the population of 11 women, divided at the time of the study in, Group A: non-pregnant women, with obstetric history of not having presented repeated abortions, Group B: pregnant women, with obstetric history of not having presented repeated abortions and Group C: non-pregnant women, with obstetric history of repeated abortions. Flow cytometer was performed to analyze the presence of T cells, B cells and natural killer cell subpopulations. Results: differences in the presence of natural killer cell subpopulations were observed between the different groups. The profiles of the natural killer cell subpopulations in the study population reflected to be between the normal limits of 5% to 15%; however, Group C resulted in the highest percentage with 10.03%. Conclusions: the implication of natural killer cells in repeat abortions in patients of the Castilla-La Mancha Health Service was identified, which showed natural killer cell profiles as prognostic markers of repeat abortion.
