Cavernous hemangioma, Computed Axial Tomography, Orbital tumorAbstract
Among orbital tumors, cavernous hemangioma is the most frequent benign tumor. We present the case of a patient with proptosis, pain around the eye and eye movements, diplopia, occasional headaches, burning and tearing. In the clinic the right eye did not present ophthalmologic alterations, the left eye showed paralysis of the external rectus muscle, convergence deficit, slight conjunctival hyperemia and exophthalmos. He was diagnosed with cavernous hemangioma in the left orbit. He had a satisfactory postoperative evolution after the tumor was removed. Computed tomography was the imaging method of choice, allowing to identify the location, presence of proptosis and structure of the tumor lesion. The unusual behavior of this case in terms of sex is highlighted, since this type of tumor is more frequent in women than in men.Downloads
