Open science and education are topics of great relevance in the academic and scientific field in recent years. These concepts refer to the availability and free access of scientific and educational information, with the aim of promoting collaboration, the exchange of knowledge and the democratization of knowledge. Both perspectives play a fundamental role in the way scientific advances are disseminated and accessed. Increasingly, scientific journals are choosing to publish their articles free of charge and accessible to anyone. This removes traditional barriers and makes medical research results available to everyone, regardless of geographic location or financial resources. The objective of the present contribution is to show the benefits of adopting open science and education applied to medical publications.
