Demographic characterization of the Polyclinic of Mantilla in the year 2022

Introduction: demography studies human populations, their status and dynamics over time. It is an academic interest to provide information that favors an approach to the current reality of the health area. Objective: to describe the demographic characteristics of the Mantilla Teaching Polyclinic in the year 2022. Method: a cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out. The demographic indicators of the state and dynamics were analyzed: population size, sex and age composition, crude mortality rate, live births, fertility rate in general, masculinity index. The data were collected from time series documents of the Death Registry, consolidated by age and sex groups; and the statistical information systems of the Dispensaries, Maternal and Child Care Program and Deaths. Results: total population of 42485 people. 26.3% belong to the population aged 60 years and over. Of these, 51% were female and 49% male. The male index is 94.4 males per 100 females. The total number of live births was 278, the crude birth rate was 6.5 live births per 1,000 population. The fertility rate was 30.6 live births per 1,000 women of childbearing age. The crude mortality rate was 4.4 per 1,000 inhabitants in the area, with a predominance of men. Conclusions: the demographic characteristics of the Mantilla Teaching Polyclinic in the year 2022 were described, which favors an approach to the current reality of the territory.
