Introduction: Population aging in Cuba constitutes one of the biggest problems evident in Public Health, either for medical care, medications or other aspects that influence the quality of life of the elderly. Getting older does not translate to the end of sexual activity. Enjoying sexuality to the fullest helps improve the quality of life in both genders. Objective: to identify the experiences of the elderly for their subsequent preparation in sexuality. Method: The focus group technique was used with four questions that included the main aspects to explore. The sample consisted of 36 people between the ages of 60 and 70 distributed in three focus groups and three different territories of the capital. Results: In the three focus groups, having sexual relations stands out as important aspects that consider sexuality, that at that age intimate relationships are almost not carried out and any manifestation of sexuality is considered a lack of respect. Men consider that they can have sexual relations with younger people, however, women do not consider it appropriate and both sexes consider it inappropriate to have sexual relations with people with HIV. A high percentage suggested that sexuality should be discussed at school, but with a professional trained in this regard, just as they would like to have a place where a professional is to exchange doubts about it. Conclusions: sexuality in older adults needs to be addressed by trained professionals for proper guidance.Downloads
