Abstract

Introduction: computer tools specialized in patient data management and health services administration are designed to improve efficiency and accuracy in the management of medical information. Galen Clínicas, as an educational platform, offers an opportunity for undergraduate students in Health Information Systems to acquire essential skills for their future career. Objective: to diagnose the relevance of using Galen Clínicas from the undergraduate level in the Health Information Systems program at the Faculty of Health Technology in the 2024 academic year. Method: a descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in the Health Information Systems program during the 2024 academic year. The study population consisted of 56 students from the four years of the program. The information was collected through a 10-item online survey designed in Google Forms, which was validated before being applied to the study population. Results: it was found that 52% of students fully agree on the relevance of using Galen Clínicas from the undergraduate level in the Health Information Systems degree. Conclusions: The relevance of using Galen Clínicas from the undergraduate level in the Health Information Systems degree of the Faculty of Health Technology was diagnosed in 2024. The integration of the Galen Clínicas software in the training of undergraduate students in Health Information Systems is essential.
