Health Information Management, Statistical Information System (SIE), Rehabilitation Activities, Normative Documentation, Medical Records, Decision-MakingAbstract
Introduction: health information management comprises processes that control the information lifecycle to ensure reliable health statistics, enabling timely decision-making and process evaluation. However, the SIE "Rehabilitation Activities" lacks integrated normative documentation for effective management. Objective: to characterize the state of information management of the Rehabilitation Activities SIE at the Directorate of Medical Records and Health Statistics. Method: a study was conducted between May and December 2024, involving 22 users selected through non-probabilistic convenience sampling. Results: The information management process of the SIE "Rehabilitation Activities" was rated as high by 74 % of specialists, medium by 18 %, and low by 8 %. Both observation and interviews confirmed these trends, highlighting the need for a unified normative document to consolidate information management and improve access to methodological guidelines. Conclusions: the information management of the SIE "Rehabilitation Activities" at the DRMES was characterized. The design of a system manual as a normative document is emphasized to enhance health information management and contribute to timely decision-making.
